#WeekendPlans (Seeing, Believing, Questioning Beliefs)

Glendale New Church will hold their service Sunday, August 11, 11 am, with lunch following.

From Pastor Clark Echols:

“Friends,

All are welcome to join us this Sunday for worship at 11 AM. We will consider the story in Mark 6 of when Jesus walked on the water. The Disciples did not recognize him, and were terrified. Then:  “But Jesus spoke to them at once. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ he said. ‘Take courage! I am here!’”  Under what conditions do you change a belief? What does it require to let go of a truth? Are you aware of the emotional bond you have with your point of view? The storyteller here is illustrating the cognitive process we are wired with. Jesus invites us to notice, and then recognize the divine truth and love that frees us to believe and hold onto authentic and eternal truth and goodness. You are invited to share your experience of this process, and be encouraged by others who share your journey!

And then we will order in a taco lunch!”
