Your Generosity in Action @BethanyHouseSvc

Thanks to all of our members who were able to contribute time and money to help make the Christmas of a family of three (a mother and two daughters) a little merrier. Items purchased with your funds included a mountain bike, a Samsung tablet, a set of dishes, pots and pans, curling iron, clothes, makeup, jewelry, and toys.

The New Church of Montgomery is glad to be one of the many organizations and individuals donating to Bethany House Services, a shelter for families in Cincinnati.

Construction is underway for a their brand new shelter opening in 2022. They hope to provide increased programming, equitable access and improved outcomes for families that need these priceless things.

Gift-Giving at the Holidays

This was our church’s first year “adopt(ing) a family” from Bethany House Services to provide gifts and needed items. Thanks to all who were able to participate, purchase, wrap and label gifts, and transport them, and to the kids from church posing for pictures in the warehouse receiving area.

Items purchased included silverware, shoes, gift cards, clothes and toys to bring smiles to two little ones and their mom; a family experiencing homelessness. We hope they have a Merry Christmas and feel the love we wrapped into each present.

Two kids from our congregation who helped unload the gifts.

#SomethingWonderful Raises Money & Awareness for @bethanyhousesvc

Thank you to all the artists, artisans, donors, volunteers and customers who made this year’s Something Wonderful Art Show & Sale at the Glendale New Church a success. We raised over $700 to assist the work that Bethany House Services does to help Cincinnati families experiencing homelessness get the assistance and skills they need to get “one step closer to home.”

#SomethingWonderful #ArtistSpotlight: Pete Toot

We will be highlighting some of our exhibiting artists from our upcoming “Something Wonderful” Art Show and Sale (9/11/21) over the next few days. We hope you enjoy learning about these artists, and what has brought art into their lives, as well as the media and subject matter on which they’ve chosen to focus.

Pete Toot played around with pencil and ink for a long time, creating for his
own enjoyment, doodles and graphic designs. He took up painting after
retirement, about five years ago, and primarily works in gouache.

Gloria Toot began painting at an early age, encouraged and coached by her artistic mother.  She received her first set of oil paints, her preferred medium, for her 14th birthday.  She didn’t paint much while working and raising two children, but following retirement she picked up her hobby once again.
